Why Visitors Come Here

Cape Sable Island is not a place for shopping streets or nightlife.

There are no yacht clubs, no trendy cafés, no crowded boardwalks.

What you will find are five wide, often deserted beaches.
Salt marshes shaped by wind. Working harbours rising before sunrise.
It is quiet. Elemental. Beautifully raw.

Made for walkers, birders, photographers — and those seeking space to breathe.

Clark’s Harbour — The Lobster Capital of Canada

Clark’s Harbour is a working fishing community on Cape Sable Island,

home to generations of lobster fishermen and proud maritime traditions.

Situated along Nova Scotia’s Lighthouse Route, the town is known for

deserted beaches,  colourful fishing boats and

some of the freshest seafood in Atlantic Canada.

Each season, our harbour comes alive as lobster boats head out before sunrise —

a rhythm that has shaped island life for generations.

“At the far edge of the coast, what truly matters begins to come into view.”
