Planning Your Stay on
Cape Sable Island
A few of my favourite ways to shape your time here.
The Shape of Your Stay
At The East Wind Guesthouse,
your stay is more than a room.
It is an opportunity to slow down and experience this place with curiosity.
Whether that means walking the shoreline at first light, visiting small local producers,
discovering nearby galleries, or simply lingering over a seasonal dinner in the sunroom,
I’m always happy to offer thoughtful suggestions.
Some guests arrive with a detailed itinerary. Others prefer to let the days unfold naturally. Both are welcome here.
If you’d like guidance while planning your stay, I’m glad to share a few of my favourite places —
the ones that reflect the true character of this region.
You may also wish to reserve a seasonal dinner at the house during your stay.
Details are shared after booking and are shaped by what is freshest and most inspiring at the time.
On the Island
Five expansive beaches, working harbours,
rare bird life and quiet back roads.
Ideal for slow mornings,
long walks and unhurried exploration.

Within 30 to 40 Minutes
Beyond Cape Sable Island, Southwest
Nova Scotia offers small coastal towns,
historic villages and stunning National Parks.
I’m always happy to suggest a gentle
loop drive, favourite café, or
a scenic route that most visitors miss.

Suggested Length of Stay
Most guests find that two or three nights allows time to truly experience the island,
with space for a seasonal dinner at the house and a day exploring the coast.
